HOW DOES IT WORK?
To encrypt messages in his paintings, Jean-Claude Bossel uses an easily recognisable graphic vocabulary: dots, holes, lines, sequences of colours.
This ARTS & MATHEMATICS approach is characteristic of the CODE BACH® trademark, registered by the artist in 2022.
An in-depth understanding of the processes used to embed hidden messages in the works requires advanced mathematical knowledge.
However, this ARTS & MATHEMATICS world can be explored through small diptychs called CLUES. Each diptych combines a short fragment of simple mathematical encoding with its graphic translation on canvas, accessible to a non-mathematical audience.
