The idea of producing an artistic work on Fake News thematic came to Jean-Claude Bossel shortly after the inauguration of Donald Trump as president of the United States, at the beginning of 2017, with the famous episodes of press photos and the appearance of the term "alternative fact".

In recent years, Fake News has proliferated very quickly and has gradually invaded the traditional field of information, gradually becoming a tool of propaganda and disinformation, which we have been able to see at work during the period of the Covid epidemic (2020-2021) then during the outbreak of war in Ukraine (2022) and more recently in the Israeli-Palestinian tragedy (2023).

Philosophically, we can go back to the distinction made by the Greek philosopher Plato between the search for truth and sophistical argumentation aimed at consolidating an opinion, independently of its truth value.

Concretely, hidden messages are encrypted using holes of different diameters or circles of different color.

The encrypted messages all refer, in a way adapted to our contemporary world, to the famous paradox of the "liar" known since Antiquity.

When we decipher the messages contained in the paintings, we find ourselves faced with endless logical loops from which our brain is unable to escape.
